OUR STORY

The Heart Behind It

About the Society

Lost Traditions Letter Society began with a simple desire, to return to a slower, more meaningful way of living.

In a world that moves quickly, more disposable, more convenient, it constantly asks us to keep up, there is something steady and grounding about the old ways of home. The kind of life built around seasons, simple routines, and the quiet work of making things by hand.

This is where the idea for the Letter Society was born.

About me – Rachelle

I’ve always found myself drawn to the work of home.

It’s in the small, everyday things, making soap in my kitchen, tending to the garden, and filling shelves with jars of sauces and jams made from whatever the season has given.

I spend a lot of my time growing microgreens, planting outdoors when the weather allows, and surrounding our home with flowers. I feel most at ease outside, especially in those long, quiet summer evenings when the day doesn’t feel rushed.

I bake sourdough, share recipes when I can, and truly believe that food made at home carries something more than just nourishment.

Beyond the kitchen and garden, I enjoy watching my children play sports, gathering with others, and creating spaces where people feel welcome, comfortable, and connected.

What was my vision

The Letter Society was created for those who feel drawn back to these ways of living. For those who want to make instead of always buy.To grow what they can. To cook, preserve, and carry on the old ways of the home. Each letter is a reflection of that life, something to sit with, to read slowly, and to return to.

A need for Community

While each letter arrives quietly in your own home, you are not alone in receiving it. With each issue, the society continues to grow, connecting individuals through shared values of home, food, and simple living. Through the pages, stories, and recipes shared, something begins to form. Not just a subscription, but a community. This is not about doing everything perfectly. It is about returning, in small ways, to what matters. And keeping those ways alive.
